SPECIAL EDITION: A Time for Gratitude – How President Trump Stood and Stands with the Jewish People

Print this Post

Raboyseyee and Ladies,

Let’s begin here: From day one, I have been unwavering in my support for President Donald J. Trump. My endorsement may carry no official weight, but I have never hesitated to express the deep gratitude we—as Jews—owe him. That’s right: gratitude.

I’ve had more than a few uncomfortable conversations with so-called “Never Trumpers,” including those who actively detest him. But let’s be honest, raboyseyee: Has there ever been a better friend to the Jewish people? To the State of Israel? Absolutely not.

Ordinarily, I prefer to steer clear of bold political declarations—at least to my readers—but we’ve reached a moment in Jewish history where silence is no longer an option.

It’s time to raise our voices and publicly thank President Trump for his consistent, unapologetic stand on behalf of the Jewish people. Truthfully, that time came years ago—especially in the final year of his first term. Alas, it wasn’t always popular to support him publicly; many conversations turned instantly awkward when one dared mention all the good Trump was doing for Israel and the Jewish people.

But things are different now. The world has changed. Antisemitism is no longer hiding in the shadows. Tragically, among some, it has even become fashionable.

We are living in perilous times. Antisemitism is resurging at levels unseen since the 1930s. In our cities, on our campuses, across social media, and even in the halls of Congress, open hatred of Jews and Israel has been normalized in certain circles. Jews are being attacked in the streets of New York. Synagogues are being defaced. Jewish businesses are being boycotted. Online platforms are flooded with conspiracy theories. On elite campuses—including Columbia, Harvard, MIT, and others—Jewish students are harassed, intimidated, and silenced.

I’ve told family and friends—it feels like we’re watching a Holocaust-era movie unfold in real time. A family sits around the dinner table. The radio crackles in the background. News from Europe: Hitler has occupied yet another country. “It’s far away,” someone says. “It won’t reach us.” But it did.

We’re hearing that chilling crackle again. On cable news. On college quads. In Congress. In TikTok videos that glorify Hamas. In influencer rants that rewrite history. In protests that claim to stand for justice but chant “From the river to the sea.”

In moments like these, we discover who truly stands with us—and who doesn’t. And let it be said clearly: President Donald Trump stood with us. Not just with words, but with action. Again and again. And he continues to stand with us.

While much of the political and media establishment stayed silent—or worse, made excuses—President Trump spoke out boldly. He called out antisemitism wherever it came from. He signed executive orders. He held institutions accountable. He stood with Israel. He protected Jews.

This is not a political statement. It is a moral one. President Trump does not need our votes. He’s already made history with the greatest political comeback in modern times. This is about hakaras hatov—giving thanks to someone who didn’t have to help us, but did. Repeatedly.

Had leaders like Kamala Harris or “The Squad” been in charge during this surge in antisemitism, can anyone doubt how much worse things might have gotten? New York City is but the latest example of a world gone meshuga. It will need a miracle to save it. It will need another messenger from Above.

President Trump is not Jewish. He didn’t need to risk political capital. He could have played it safe. But instead, he stood with us. He chose moral clarity. And that matters.

In many ways, President Trump is a modern-day Achashverosh. No, not a tzaddik. Not a prophet. But like Achashverosh, he was placed in a unique position of power at a critical time in Jewish history—and made the decision to protect, not persecute. Just as Achashverosh empowered Mordechai and Esther to act on behalf of the Jews of Persia, President Trump has empowered Jews and their defenders in our generation. He saw the threat. He didn’t blink.

The Midrash (Esther Rabba) teaches that Achashverosh was a shaliach—an agent—of Hashem. It is not at all far-fetched to believe that Trump, too, was chosen for such a time as this. It certainly appears so.

Let us review just a few of the many actions he has taken to help:
– He signed a 2019 executive order expanding Title VI protections to Jewish students—empowering the Dept. of Education to investigate campus antisemitism.
– He appointed people like Leo Terrell to lead the  DOJ’s task force on antisemitism.
– When Jews were attacked in Brooklyn or when shuls and cemeteries were desecrated, he responded—not with vague platitudes, but with real support and outrage.
– He recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel and moved the U.S. Embassy there—something every president promised but none delivered.
– He recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
– He brokered the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and four Arab nations—a historic shift in the region. The list goes on.

And let’s not forget the game-changing role Trump played in confronting the existential threat from Iran. While previous administrations sought to appease the Iranian regime through dangerous, one-sided nuclear deals—or even by sending over a billion dollars in cash by plane—President Trump tore up the disastrous JCPOA, reimposed crushing sanctions, and stood firmly alongside Israel in recognizing Iran as the world’s leading sponsor of terror. His decision to eliminate Qasem Soleimani, the architect of Iran’s regional terror operations, changed the balance of power and restored deterrence in the Middle East. That action alone shifted the paradigm—and signaled to Israel and its enemies alike: America has your back.

He withdrew from the anti-Israel UN Human Rights Council and defunded UNRWA, which had promoted antisemitism in Palestinian education. He did not pretend that Israel was the aggressor. He did not feed the “both-sides” narrative. He understood that standing with the Jews was a matter of principle, not politics.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has drifted alarmingly to the left. Figures like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib say things that, a few years ago, would have been condemned as blatant antisemitism—and today, they sit on major committees. They get applause.

Instead of leading the fight against antisemitism, too many Jewish politicians play defense. They’re quick to condemn antisemitism from the right (as they should), but turn a blind eye when it comes from their own side. That double standard is chilling. And dangerous.

Contrast that with President Trump. He defined antisemitism. He fought it. He took bold action. He defends Jewish students, protects Jewish heritage, and gives moral strength to Jews around the world who are tired of being vilified.

Trump didn’t do it for applause or for votes. He didn’t do it because it was easy. He did it because it was right. Like Achashverosh, he chose to stand with the Jewish people in a moment of existential danger.

In the days of Noach, the world had gone mad—corruption and violence filled the earth, and Hashem had seen enough. He took decisive action to reset the course of humanity. In our times, the world has once again descended into moral chaos. And perhaps, just as in ancient days, we are witnessing the hand of Providence. It’s as if Hashem has sent us a “Trump 2.0”—more focused, more principled, and more unapologetically aligned with truth—to help carry out His plan, to stand for justice, and to defend His people.

History doesn’t always give us the heroes we expect. Sometimes, it sends us the ones we need. In our time, President Donald Trump has proven himself to be such a man.

Let it be known:
– That we are grateful.
– That we remember.
– That we will not stay silent when a friend stands with us in a time of danger.

Yashar koach, Mr. President.

You have stood with us.
And now, we stand to say: Thank you.

    Hi Yitz
Could not have written a more truthful and important article!!
    Been saying that for years
One thing to add. Throughout history those whether Jewish or non, that we can see Hashem Sent to defend and help us had suffered in some sort of way. Certainly the same can be said of Trump with the threat of prison, getting shot etc etc.
He is truly a man who Hashem as put on this earth with a purpose and that is to help protect the Jews and make this world a better place.
Hope all is well with you and keep up the fine work!!
We are connected for life and may you and your family have lots of nachas.

    Andy

Hey, that was a beautiful and amazing tribute to Trump. And we just need to get that to him. And have it signed by a few million people!
